The BMW R100GS Paris-Dakar was a series of special edition, dual sport motorcycles that were introduced in 1988. Based on the BMW R100GS, the Paris-Dakar (also referred to as the PD) was inspired by the famous Paris-Dakar rally, and was equipped with a larger gas tank, front impact bars, hard bags, and a luggage rack among its many features.
